    Pros

    Deloitte name recognized as one of big 4 looks good on the resume, in theory but that's it!!!

    Cons

    NO work life balance
    Low pay and compensation for the area
    Horrible management
    No factual communication on travel requirement
    Backstabbing culture

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    When asking people to relocate to very expensive areas compensate them appropriately. When you are going to have people work projects that are different than what you are hiring them for and it requires more travel, INFORM YOUR PEOPLE!!! You will continue to have high turn over especially in specialty areas and you'll have no depth of talent as long as you keep treating people like warm bodies to use for billable hours, because it's obvious that's all you care about!!!! Thank god above I escaped that horrible company!!!!

    Pros

    Allow accelerated growth if you work hard, but don't push you out of if you need to ease off the breaks
    Very supportive of family issues - very impressive
    Broad network of smart colleagues. College hires (undergrad and MBA) are particularly impressive.

    Cons

    Very obsessed with titles - world divided into Partners and Peons
    Tout ample training - but never mention how poor the quality of the training is (or that it's mandatory, above and beyond the long hours spent on productive work)
    At the end of the day, you are graded on your contribution to company "firm building" activities - not based on the value you actually provide clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    "Valuing your Employees" means allowing your employees to have some say in how they develop - not forcing 40 hours of useless, poor quality mandatory training per year. Keep being supportive of individuals who have one-off family/personal issues - it's probably the #1 reason for loyalty to the company.
