I have been working at Deloitte

    Pros

Office politics is minimal as compared to other banks/financial institution since promotion is somewhat not difficult during the first few years. There are people around to guide you (Seniors or managers)

    Cons

KPI of partners and even managers lies in the recovery of the engagement. In order to hit a certain percentage of recovery, the team do not charge billable hours as per what it is. Situations whereby managers/partners would hint or blatantly tell you in the face to "fix" or lower your time charged is very common. In some cases, associates/seniors sign as unassigned while working on engagements.

Because people do not charge accordingly, management has the opinion that employees are idle and should be taking up more engagements to boost their billable hours, thereby double/triple decking on engagements at any one time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Turnover rates are generally high. Other than the point mentioned in Cons, I would think investing in your people would benefit the firm (and your pocket) in the long run. Lower turnover brings lower cost of re-training staff, improves efficiency.
