    Pros

Still a real Partnership. Open and accessible leadership.

    Cons

Consulting project work - lots of travel and time away from home (could be a pro depending on personal circumstances).
    Can be long, unpredicatble hours.

I have been working at Deloitte

    Pros

Organisation is set up to be very challenging but satisfying. I gain a lot of personal satisfaction from working on different kinds of engagements at Deloitte. They aren't ultra task masters like they are in consulting orgs like Accenture. But they have a very success driven culture.

    Cons

Not all Deloitte locations are created equally. Culture is great in Melbourne, but there are problems in Perth. It's success driven culture can put a high demand on people. But to some that is a good thing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some people move up for their technical competency and expertise. Don't fall into the mistake of the Peter Principal and push them into responsibilities that they do not have a passion for or not suited for. Promote but keep in mind that some want to continue to apply their expertise appropriately as they move up.

Cut deadwood when needed. Continue to look after the performers and not push the cliche 'high performance' mantra that others do.
