I worked at Deloitte full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Drives project management skills with people, resources and delivering multiple projects in parallel.
Develops very good verbal and written communication skills, includes legal and contracts.
Opportunity to network with a very strong network with high performing partners , directors and principals. strategic partners and third part vendors.
They pay reasonably compensation and beat most of the competition and industry standards.
The weekends are yours if you know how to manage your time. vacation is good and better than most IT firms.
health , medical, dental and legal insurance is good. expenses are taken care if you know how to file them..:)
very strong contributor to society, diversity an equal employment opportunity.

Cons

if you are looking for a immigration or green card do not not join deloitte.
if you are looking to focus and master a particular industry, technology think of joining deloitte.
Its up or out on goals ever 4-5 years, if you cannot manage an very aggressive company don't try your luck.
Its a highly political firm, if you cannot manage office politics don't venture into the game.
The firm runs with strong numbers which could damage your work life balance.
You will surely be a beat at the end of the day five days a week., there is no friday night for you if you travel.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please treat people like humans and not robots, and please remember your people that have sacrificed their personal life's for the firm with their passion and compromising thier work life balance, partners too have a family and make ten to twenty times the money they pay a resources. Its is not a boot camp, learn to give and take respect to every human out there..

I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1. No other place to get experienced with the most broad spectrum of professional services (strategic/operational advisory through implementation)
    2. Top Talent
    3. Brand value
    4. Entrepreneurial culture - if you have ideas and can articulate and relate well, sky is the limit

    Cons

    1. High expectations on performance (which is usually exceeding expectations for other firms) esp. given top talent across the board
    2. Can take a while for experienced hires from tier2/3 firms to align and adopt. No limits for top talent though
    3. Independence restrictions to consulting is not necessary!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up on the strategy execution! We have aggressive goals but take care of talent while executing on firm's strategy. Lets maintain our uniqueness.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Numerous trianing opportunities, maternity leave (8 weeks +) paternity leave (3 weeks), very competitive pay structure, volunteering and networking are highly encouraged, young work force, numerous office locations, remoting/working from home on some days is acceptable based on your clients.

    Cons

work life balance is preached but not always possible. You have to be disciplined to turn off from work otherwise it will take over your life. Senior Consultant and below: Utilization/Billing hours is your top priority

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More firm activities should be counted toward utilization since there is such an emphasis on them.
