    Big Pros, Big Cons.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

You'll learn a lot. A heck of a lot. You'll get promoted fast (up to Manager) by being good, focused, an working hard.

Element of meritocracy in promotions. Consistency process is mostly fair.

The brand on your CV is powerful.

International opportunities exist and are supported.

Leadership opportunities come up, you'll be leading teams before you know it.

You'll work with talented, dedicated people every day.

    Cons

Be prepared to become a sales bot once you hit mid management. Nothing else matters. There's a lot of rhetoric about other things mattering, delivery, developing people etc, but really, if your sales numbers don't stack up, you will hit a ceiling in progression no matter what else you contribute.

Be prepared to not be at home. For long, long stretches of time.

Be prepared to work all the hours. And weekends, bank holidays, vacations, and pretty much any other time.

Be prepared to not believe a single word that comes from senior management / Partners. I've seen many, many people move on simply because the leadership would sooner sell you off for a half decent day rate rather than try and find a fit for individuals. Got a family? Be prepared to be away. Want to do a specific type of work? Try these banal projects for the next 18 months instead. Been away for a long stretch and want something local? Enjoy 15 months away in the middle of no-where instead.

Pay is weighted at the top of the organization. "Benchmarked against industry and competitors" is a running, unfunny joke. Industry pays 30 - 50% more. Bonus scheme is hilariously insulting.

Training runs dry at Manager and above. Enjoy sitting in what are little more than very, very poor sales seminars instead of valuable, transferable skills - technical, hard, soft.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have talented people who you treat like drones / sales bots.

Deliver training that isn't just telling us about the latest thing you want your drones to sell.

    Pay. Pay. Pay.

Live your ethics, don't dump on them for $
