Current Employee - Senior Consultant in Washington, DC

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

The company is full of bright, hard working people. Everybody is ambitious. Opportunities to try a variety of assignments exist. Great medical benefits.

Cons

There is never enough time to actually take all the vacation you are offered. You will be very busy there. Sometimes the ambitious nature of the workforce can cause less than congenial interactions.

Former Intern - Summer Undergrad ("Summer Scholar") in Boston, MA

I worked at Deloitte as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

-Opportunity to drive your own path through emphasis on building your network as a means to getting staffed on projects
    -Great professional development
-People are uniquely nice and generally pretty smart

    Cons

-Inherently a little cookie cutter, as would be the case with any Big 4 or any old, big company
-The culture is predictably bro-y. It's explicitly inclusive, but there's definitely a dominant white male type coming out of schools like Boston College and the University of Virginia.
-Needs more diversity initiatives and a more developed multicultural approach if it wants to be adaptable within an increasingly dynamic world
-Legal model (of separating each entity by country) is cumbersome in working beyond the scope of the US

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-More diversity! In terms of race, class, modes of thinking, definitions of fun, etc.
-More space for people to do things *outside* and independent of Deloitte (versus pressure to press one's social and civic life through Deloitte channels)
-More room for creativity within projects would be appreciated by me, though I'm not sure if it's consistent with your value proposition for the companies whose mergers you're implementing, etc.
