I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

Pros

Smart, driven colleagues, variety of POTENTIAL clients/issues to gain exposure from, good work flexability

Cons

No bonus until Sr. Consultant, heavy travel, slow promotion/salary increases, lots of "potential" to do cool things dangled in front of you, but chances of doing them are slim unless recognized by upper management

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to retain your talent more, I see too many smart experienced people leave frequently.

    Pros

    -Good recognition when considering exit ops
    -Great employee training and extracurricular activities
    -Access to people in positions of power within the firm, if you're willing to take initiative

    Cons

    -Longer hours than other firms in the industry
    -The comp structure doesn't seem to reward loyalty
    -The annual review process is such that a disgruntled manager on a meaningless 2 week project can erase a year of exceptional work
    -HR/Staffing has made empty promises (e.g. "If you stay on this project for another 6 months, we will make sure you get to see X")

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Do more to reward people who are long term employees and to motivate them to stay. It's tough when the new hires start to catch up to the compensation levels of more senior employees just based on changes in the hiring market. Also, it seems counterintuitive to offer experienced hires more than organically grown employees when they are less valuable/productive and more expensive to train.

    very supportive team, great resources,

    Cons

    very large firm so it is easy to feel lost, huge emphasis on networking so if you aren't big on it- it might be a problem
