I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Smart and driven people. Great culture from a team building and networking perspective. Great opportunities to learn and develop your career.

Cons

Travel schedule is demanding, and some managers do not understand the strain that can place on one's personal life. Managers themselves require additional career development to be able to coach and develop employees beyond the analyst/consultant level.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to find a way to achieve work-life balance, and to get people off the road, while still meeting client needs. Focus on career development for all levels, including Senior Managers and Partners -- just because they made it that far, doesn't always mean they are good people managers themselves.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

    Pros

the experience is priceless - several different projects, everyone gets immense responsibilities, there are various types of clients and opportunities in any industry you can imagine (in Deloitte consulting)

in the federal market place hours are not bad, mostly a standard 40-45 hr work week. Mentorship is incredible, and they encourage you to network and find mentors within the firm.

    Cons

The firm expects a lot of you outside of normal work, you must do 400+ hours o f"firm activities" a year, outside of client work. It is usually very pointless like being on silly committees. The firm is also big on basically who is the best at sucking up and getting on high visibility intiatives. ratings are also unfair and on a bell curve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop asking for more, more, more. Quality over quantity.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - great industry exposure
    - friendly working environment with flat culture
    - working remotely allows flexibility in work/life balance
    - great place to start your career

    Cons

    - relatively low pay with low to non-existent bonus. this translates into high turnover rate, especially among high performers.
    - the firm focuses too much on staff's utilization rate
    - not enough firm-wide eminence initiatives

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be more generous to your high performers with compensation/benefits as it is much depressed and not competitive with market
