Pros

This is a giant organization that has many resources, if you can find and use them towards your favor. Client work quality is supreme. You become very client-oriented and time-sensitive.

Cons

Overall disappointing experience - work isn't challenging, pay isn't commensurate with how much you work, too much politics and no good leaders.

Advice to Management

Treat your staff better, instead having this expectation that they will leave after 2 years before you even hire them. Only investing in your people after 5 - 6 years services isn't a test of loyalty; it's the opposite and accelerate the pace for top performers to leave.

Besides the banking team, it's not a good idea to force staff cancel plans and stay late all week.

Reward hard work.

    Pros

If you find a good project - it will be challenging, rewarding, and impactful. Otherwise you will be stuck in a dead-end stifling role. You are 100% responsible for finding your next project. Which can be a pro, but if the timing is bad
might not be much or anything available. A good project / client enables some work/life balance (but if does not really exist at Deloitte.)

    Cons

You are 100% responsible for finding your next project. Which can be a pro, but if the timing is bad
might not be much or anything available. And if you are on the Associate path it could be the end of your career. For Associates, the last day of your project is the last day at the firm. Associates do not receive severance. But they do pay out all the PTO you earned, but were never able to take.

    Advice to Management

Appear to be losing Federal projects because the Firm is too expensive.

    Pros

Lots of amenities (new laptop every two years, newest cellphones, airline miles, hotel points).

    Lots of opportunity to travel

    Cons

    Poor pay

Horrible work-life balance, a lot of internal, non-client, non-billable, work hours that are required for promotion and seen (in some cases) as more important than client work.

Lots of nepotism among the partners and their chosen favorites. Hard work is marginally rewarded.
