Pros

Nice facility, telework is encouraged, good benefits, good managers, game room

Cons

Low pay, constant acquisitions/firing, high employee turnover, disconnected executives who think they are connected, out sourcing jobs to the Philippines

Advice to Management

Motivation is low because people are not paid what they should. Raise salaries and keep your top employees instead of being cheap.

I have been working at Deltek full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Loyal Costpoint customer base - Shiny new HQ

    Cons

    - Outdated/user-unfriendly products - Vacuum of leadership at the top - An IT department straight out of the 90s

    Advice to Management

    1. Update your products. User-friendly is more than just a theory- it's a necessity to compete in today's market. Why did it take 3+ years after first announced to roll out Costpoint 7? It was outdated by the time it hit the streets. And don't get me started on your IPM products. It's like firing up the Nintendo Gamecube to try and impress your friends: sure, it's a fun walk down memory lane, but no one is going to brag about owning one. 2. Pick a direction- any direction- and stick with it. Then invest in it- and not just around sales. Product development, marketing, advertising. Act like you really believe in what you are doing, plan and build accordingly, and the sales will follow. 3. Completely revamp IT. HQ is taken completely down for the day every couple months because of technical problems. How did no one lose their job after this happened the 2nd time? And while Blackberry and Windows XP was cutting edge a decade ago, these things should not be the standard in 2012.
