Hard working employees. Extremely short sighted leadership.

I worked at Deltek full-time

Pros

Decent benefits and compensation, some very bright team memebers still there.

Cons

Leadership and ownership only interested in next quarter results. No recognition of the value of employees. Constant fear you will be downsized or outsourced. No focus on customer satisfaction. Simply a toxic environment.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

This "do anything to shore up profit margins" mentality will be the end of the company. Make SOME decision based on what is best for your customers and employees and growth and margins will follow.

New ownership that does not value human capital & new incompetent leadership

I have been working at Deltek full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Was a great place to work for many years, valued human capital, flexible work schedule, great work/life balance, many acquisitions kept the environment exciting with change, all for the good. The leadership was amazing until the recent buyout.

    Cons

Company recently was bought by equity investment firm that does not share the same values as the Deltek employees. There have been 4 CFOs in the last 5 years. The Finance department is completely dysfunctional, changing the CFOs has done nothing, they've kept the same incompetent team of people that operate as if it were decades ago. The former CEO, Kevin Parker, left the company in Dec. 2012 and this was one of the worst mistakes the new ownership could have made. Kevin was an incredible leader, visionary and inspiration. Since his departure, a majority of the best talent (both leadership and across the company at all levals) at Deltek quit as well. We are left with poor leadership in very influential positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is being run by the new investment firm who does not have any background in software. It appears that the employees that are left are only there to hold the company long enough to increase the margins for a large sale in a couple of years.

I have been working at Deltek full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Not required to work overtime.

    Cons

Bad management team which leads to a bad culture there. No room to grow, no appreciation to people's hard work, no future!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When add someone in the management team, please hire someone who is competent to that level. Don't just listen what they say, but also need to see what they are capable to do.
