I have been working at Deluxe Entertainment

Pros

Casual, somewhat laid back atmosphere. Job duties are evenly distributed. Team managers sometimes listens to their department and work in conjunction to further workplace morale. Employees can attend movie screenings if the right request is pushed through.

Cons

Due to new management, cost of living increases (or raises) have been suspended indefinitely since 2008. No room for promotions, but lateral moves are available when someone leaves a certain position within the department. Disorganization with upper management. Additional work pushed on employees but without the incentives or personal acknowledgement. At times, forced to work holidays and/or weekend when staff is minimal.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Because the decrease of film printing distribution went to our competitor, Technicolor, Deluxe laid off over 60% of the work force last year, then realized that they needed to recoup new employees to cover the influx of business we have taken in for digital cinema. Not receiving a raise for the amount of additional amount of workload for over five years is unacceptable.

    Pros

DDS gives you opportunities to be promoted or move between departments, but it's up to you to network into those positions.

    Cons

Salaries were mediocre, great disparity in the motivational levels of employees - some people work extremely hard, others just don't care (which can be frustrating).
