Pros – When the it's good, it's great. The VP is a seasoned vet of the insurance industry working all levels and sides of the business. You will learn from him, regardless of what department you are working in. The VP is very personable and does take time to get to you know you, which can also be a bad thing. This is a 9-5 job, the lunch hour is paid for, and you will never be asked to work weekends or stay late. The office is beautiful and one of the nicest I have ever worked in.

Cons – When it rain, it pours. With the exception of one of the officers, top management is run by people who don't know the first thing about the industry. Pay here is awful. Those who quietly bust their behind will never get a raise. While DGA is lucky to have some of the hardest workers out there, it pulls itself down by hiring some of the laziest and dumbest people as a favor to someone.

Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of the siblings as day to day management. Siblings should only be silent owners and all business decisions are done by JM as president. Move operations to Queens, to cut costs and as a favor to your staff who is mostly from Queens. Cut costs by; sending policies through e-mail only, all brokers receive commission through wires and never checks.
