Potentially a great company to work for, but has much room to improve.

    Pros

Usually quite flexible with scheduling, friendly co-workers, and a great opportunity to make many contacts and references with various related tech fields and companies. Moderately decent online training is available for free through the company training modules, and on the job training is usually done by very experienced co-workers who are always happy to help you learn and improve. Decent payrate for much of the work done. Overtime is often available on many of the larger projects, and seems to remain that way regardless of how the economy is doing. Even "part time" employees can often get 40+ hours a week if they make themselves available.

    Cons

There is often a breakdown of communication between the Customer Services Project Office team (CSPO) and the client, causing on site issues and delays. There is a lack of advancement opportunity and many of the long time (non-office) employees are still working in the same position and at a similar payrate as when they started with the company. Advancement from a part time employee to a fulltime employee with benefits is quite difficult as the management will usually hire from outside of the company to fill fulltime positions and place part time employees on an "as needed" schedule. Reimbursement for job related expenses (tools and equipment needed but not provided) can take several weeks or more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acknowledge good work more often, and communicate negative issues immediately as opposed to waiting for them to occur multiple times and then become an issue. Promote from within the company in order to create a loyal employee base. Project organizers should visit job sites more often to gain an understanding of what employees will need available to them in order to be able to complete their given task. Keep in regular contact with the client so that when issues do arise on the job, the on site employees can more easily resolve the issue quickly.

    Pros

Lots of good salespeople, pre-sales architects, and support staff

    Cons

A lot of moving parts. You have to be very organized as customers change directions often and you have to adapt on the fly.
