    I worked at Denny's part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

There's no managers to deal with for a majority of your shift which is nice since most are micro-managers. The customers are much nicer and chill and usually know what they want and they tip decently.
You don't have to try at this job to do good and you don't have to because it's Denny, they cater to poor people.

    Cons

The customers won't tip well if you bother them a lot but they are much more willing to talk at night. There's no manager available most of the time so if anything goes wrong it's your fault even if the manager was supposed to be available to help you.
management doesn't care to understand the differences in customers at night and during the day, so regardless of how hard you try to sell things, you'll probably fail.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your workers a living wage
Stop working your employees so hard so little pay
give night shift workers more leeway in regards to sales, night customers don't want to be sold things that normally sell during the day, they usually just want to be left alone.
OH and use a better operating system than Microsoft 98, you cheap b@stards.
Loosen up, you cater to poor people, they're going to complain a lot about a lot so please stop giving their complaints so much weight in comparison to your employee's account of events.
