Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put reacheable goals in the long term . If you failed in one month, within a period of 6 you have the possibility to go for it. But reacheable. Now is only win for the company and losses for sales people.

    I worked at Denver Post

    Pros

The only good reason to work at the Denver Post were the benefits.

    Cons

The management needed some managing. They have no business managing departments let alone a failing company. They would hire these new "managers", and within a couple of months they were running the whole floor, then they would mysteriously "go away." Too many secrets....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit lying to your employees. Just be straight up with how you want them to perform their job. Find qualified managers, not FRIENDS of supervisors of upper management.

I was proud to work for a media leader that successfully applied new technologies to a challenged industry.

    I worked at Denver Post

    Pros

Good benefits, decent pay, management seemed clear on direction and purpose. Most of all, I loved working for an industry leader in the newspaper biz!

    Cons

Too many employees filling the roles of multiple jobs due to so many lay-offs. Sometimes a lack of respect by senior management toward employees, specifically in how they're communicated with on a daily basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop chopping jobs simply to pay for additional VPs. Show more professional respect toward all the employees who help create a quality product every day.
