I worked at Denver Post full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Plenty of credibility with this very well-established company. It provides good experience and can provide good opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

Management continues to change gears, trying desperately to "reinvent the buggy whip" rather than get with the times. Incredibly high turnover, among both management and staff. Obviously as a newspaper, they are struggling to maintain revenues. The digital department has undergone some positive, forward-thinking changes. There have been mass layoffs several times during my long tenure, many of them removed negative, poor managers, other times they made strange decisions.
