Great place to work - lots of opportunity and interesting files.

Senior Policy Officer (Former Employee)

Pros- challenging work with opportunity to travel
- great training offered at the foreign service institute
- wide variety of files and opportunity to engage with a wide variety of cultures and organizations

Cons- can be challenging if you are not an FS
- harder to advance than other departments (but can be worth the wait)

Advice to Senior ManagementReconcile the balance between the value/needs of all occupational categories

    Not a place for career advancement

    Hold off for joining another 5 years or so
