I have been working at Destination XL full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Offer insurance. Monthly newsletters. Decent pay for the retail industry. Customers tend to be genuinely decent people and the selling structure promotes interactions that lead to interesting conversations.

    Cons

Every position is a sales position, and upper-management are often reminding you. Upper-management are too focused on the growth of the company, and not enough on keeping older stores up-to-date. Sales are lost because of out-of-date equipment, marketing, and merchandise.

    Advice to Management

A "Universe"-based selling strategy is great if you keep the technology in your stores up-to-date. Open up communication between the individual store and upper-management and ask for ideas to increase productivity before rolling out new programs that are time-sucking and make the job harder on associates.
