Pros

There are some great and talented people at Dex One. Nice office space and location.

Cons

Leadership, Directors, Managers and HR are not aware of what talents there employees have and cannot seem to place them in the appropriate job. I have seen many instances where most were unaware of exactly what individuals did for the company. There were too many extremely skilled individuals at the wrong task as well as wrong people in high level, crucial tasks.

I have seen new leadership come and go over the years and each time they try the same tactics. Tactics that didn't work the first two times.

Advice to Management

Better understand the inner workings of the engine. Appreciate the talents you have and retain them for the good of Dex One. When there needs to be staff cuts, don't do it blindly looking only at the dollars, but do it carefully and with a good understanding of what gear you're planning on removing. It could severely damage the engines performance.

    Pros

Solid coworkers, a lot of training, decent sales contests/perks, benefits are pretty good in bargained positions.

    Cons

Pay estimates are *extremely* optimistic. They've been telling everyone in entry level positions that they want to have the average salary be $60,000 in 2013, when most struggled to hit $40,000 in 2012. There's just a complete management detachment from the realities that we deal with in the field.

Beyond that, there are very few opportunities to get promoted or really have any kind of growth at all. The business has been so mismanaged for years that they've had to really focus on centralizing the company in order to cut costs, hence most people being centrally located in call centers. It kills a lot of the potential for promotion because the company's structure is so flat right now.

    Advice to Management

Get a better commission structure, and a lot more opportunities for people to move around/get promoted. You're trying to reinvent this company, but 90% of the place is still using 4:3 monitors powered by Windows XP boxes. There's no sense of an overall picture or vision for this company and that's killing us.
