Pros

Pay rate, working for a big box company, ability to manage a multi million dollar store for a billion dollar company

Cons

Hours are very long. Sometimes you are expected to make sacrifices of personal time to get work done. Very demanding job

  1. The job duties can be fun, however the managment is sloppy and there is no accountability for anyones actions.

    Pros

The products they sell are fun and there is something for everyone, there is new and creative tasks to do all the time, you are always doing something differant everyday.

    Cons

the management is sloppy and keeps there employees in the dark on a lot things, there isnt a lot of room to move up withen the company and they tend to hire from outside the company rather then promoting from within, there corpoate plans dont make sense in there olders store and mainly focus on the newer stores, there is absolutely no accountability for anyones actions and its almost like they are afriad to let go of the underperforming associates.

    Advice to Management

grow a backbone and start disciplining the people who need to be disciplined and start listening to your associates because they are the ones actually at the stores doing the work and not someone sitting at a desk in your corporate office

    Pros

This position is seriously the easiest job. You stand in one spot all day and repeat yourself. You occasionally answer the phone and transfer calls, and also guild people in the right direction for their purchases. If you don't mind being bored, this position is for you.

    Cons

Management will constantly be on you about doing your job correctly, even if you are! They will watch you and listen to everything you do by, "hiding". You get trained for ONE DAY, and they expect you to know exactly what to do, and when you have questions about something, they get mad because your bothering them while they sit in the back with the other managers. And then, if you screw up, they get angry, and this is because no one is ever trained properly. This position, really isn't as effective as what the managers think. Alls you do your whole shift is say, "Hi, how are you. What brings you in today?" But saying "what brings you in today", sometimes makes customers uncomfortable and angry because they dont want to be bothered. I believe greeting is ineffective.

    Advice to Management

Let the CES do their job, in a way that they believe is effective. If you let us greet people they way we like to be greeted, the customer will feel more comfortable while their shopping. Its so awkward!
