I have been working at Dick's Sporting Goods full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Having a job, Team environment, growth opps if you brown nose the right ppl. Coachable employees at my store, TV's on the sales floor

Cons

As company goes from transforming itself from a retailer to brand, they have rethink a lot of different thnigs. the processes that are getting installed are great, but you have to let the store teams master them first, before add more and more on the plate.

Morale is a 911. its the most thankless organization that I have worked for.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow your own talent and promote within instead of hiring random SM's from other companies when you have men and women busting their humps night and day coming in on days off just to get looked over.

I worked at Dick's Sporting Goods full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Decent benefits, somewhat flexible schedules.

    Cons

inconsistent hours. full time employees range from 30-40 hours per week. managers don't hesitate to cut hours and increase workloads in order to make numbers look better. poor management and employee treatment in a lot of stores.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company makes a ton of money. treat employees better and devote more money and time to customer service instead of making numbers look good. Employees should be treated like people instead of tools.
