Pros

Flexible hours for young adults in college.
Young staff that is fun to work with.
Nice people to hang out with in and outside of work.

Cons

Not much thought put into the yearly evaluation

Advice to Management

Take advantage of having young ambitious employees. The opportunity is there. The management training program should be promoted to every young kid and should constantly be looked at as a staple of the companies benefit and opportunity.

    Pros

Relatively flexible, depending on who your store manager is. Compensation is competitive, benefits are decent. If you work in a store that has historically produced good metrics, chances are you will be left to do your work and not bothered by upper management much.

    Cons

Upper management (outside of the stores) only see a snapshot of what is happening. They really only care about numbers (results) and often fail to give you applicable advice to accomplish tasks that seem insurmountable. Bonuses are weighted on certain metrics - overall sales performance counts, but it is certainly not the driving factor behind your structure (customer surveys are!).

    Advice to Management

Cut out some of the micro-managing. Give more flexibility to the stores. Appreciate the constraints of productivity when management's hands are tied (i.e. - when you remove payroll from the stores, don't expect your management teams to feel obligated to pick up all the slack). Actually try to develop relationships with sales managers and sales leaders - if they respect you, they will work all the harder to produce for you!

    Pros

    Fun, young culture
Laid back hours and flexible scheduling

    Cons

Your experience depends heavily on the management of your store
Typical retail, constant inventory and signage updates, crazy customers, scarce breaks
    No incentives for associates

    Advice to Management

Stock all products that are placed in circulars and implement more advanced inventory tracking systems
