I have been working at Dick's Sporting Goods part-time (more than an year)

Pros

Your team will become more like a family. The management staff gave the associates a sense of ownership of their various departments.

Cons

Their were times when scheduling became an issue. The staff wasn't very big, so there were instances when the management would ask associates to work double shifts when needed.

I worked at Dick's Sporting Goods part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Discount
    - Flexible with scheduling especially if you're in college

    Cons

    - Unprofessional management (will text and call outside of work hours to harass you if you did something wrong)
    - at least 9 hour work days
    - Always understaffed
    - A manager is never at the store longer than 2 years
    - Turnover rate is high. Its frustrating to train someone new every 2-3 weeks
    - You only get a promotion/raise if you're buddies with your manager

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your management has gone down hill. Promote more within the company from leads to managers who understand how the floor works and running their department. When you hire someone from your college program they never stay longer than a year so do away with it.
