Pros

Good people, with a willingness to do the right things; it's the reason many have been there so long. Reasonable compensation and benefits for the area.

Cons

Moral is fairly low. Moving back to micro-managing and managing by intimidation ("my way or the highway"). Many good people have left the company recently because of it, and they are taking the business and technical knowledge with them. Diebold's transformation to a service company is a slow process.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sr. management needs to look at and understand what their management teams are doing, as well as provide leadership vision communicated to all. And, despite what Sr. management may think, people aren't interchangeable. When they're gone, their experience goes with them.

    Pros

Great co-workers, supportive teammates, training opportunities were plentiful, our clients were fantastic, associates were often empowered to take initiative in solving their own problems.

    Cons

The sales model and structure are going through constant change, bonuses are a moving target, layoffs occurred many times over past few years, there are competing interests and conflicting goals that pit you against your co-workers, lower management is inept, and frustration will most likely rule your workdays.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote people who have the potential to be excellent managers rather than promoting people for their work success. Often, people who were quite effective at their positions ended up being horrible leaders.
