I worked at Digi International full-time for less than a year

Pros

Great work environment and benefits. Employees had a sense of humor, fun.

Cons

1. The training process could have been accelerated a bit, but the trainers thought slow was best due to experience.
2. Laid off after one month of employment.

    I worked at Digi International

    Pros

There are plenty of opportunities to become a core member on new design projects.
The engineering resource pool is highly talented and a great learning resource.

    Cons

You must be OK with a highly flexible schedule
You must be willing to wear a variety of hats: engineer, tester, salesman

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All in all, keep up the good work; favoritism isn't shown in assignment of tasks and talent is fairly recognized and rewarded.

    I worked at Digi International

    Pros

Great people in all areas of the company and regions of the world.
Great deal of latitude and you can impact many areas of the business.
    Could be positioned for growth...

    Cons

The organization is going in to many directions for its own good and we focus on the short-term.
Very little career development from your manager (they are too busy) and no career development or training from the HR group (they are HR only in name).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pick a few markets and do them well...we can't be all things to all people. If we don't we will just be a "nice little company" who makes widgets.
