I worked at DigiPhoto Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fair pay for front line, get to work in fun and exciting locations, great venue specific benefits (depending on venue) great co workers. Pretty much what you would expect in the industry.

    Cons

Firstly, No Work Life Balance. Ive seen managers, Leads and front line work ridiculous hours. over 70 a week. The expectation for managers is a minimum of 45 hours a week, thats fine. But if your venue isnt hitting labor... they expect 6 days a week to help control the labor cost. Now a private company, trying to run the same way it did back under Eastman Kodak. Was once all about the service, memories, and customers. Now its just about the $$$. Labor reductions, percap increases, and the bottom line. Corporate is severely detached from the sites. Weekly calls, and the occasional visit do not suffice for genuinely taking an interest. They have lost more supervisory, managerial, and corporate level employees over the last year than ever before. They have taken away their incentive bonus plan for most venues, killing any fire in employees to give that extra spark. The only way to get a promotion is to have someone else leave their position. Lack of growth in general is hurting them.

    Advice to Management

When people bring complaints, listen. When people ask for help, aid them, and when people have ideas, do not dismiss them. If a site does not make money, dont penalize the staff, maybe a venue just isnt a money maker. Some sites just should be operated by the company, or any company form a souvenir photography perspective. Some sites should be done in house. I understand being in the business to make money, but dont burn your staff trying to fight a battle you cant win.
