I worked at Dillard's

Pros

The discount is fair and worth it because of the selection of merchandise you are able to purchase.
As a cosmetic associate, you are also able to receive gratis from the company that you work for.

Cons

Unfair wages. You are hired in at one amount and if you are unable to keep up with the unattainable goal, your salary is cut. Sometimes it is cut by over a dollar. The goals are not just with your cosmetic line that you work for. You are expected to cross sell.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the goals attainable to keep good, knowledgable staff. Do not cut employee's wages. Most of the lines do not have commission so it is unfair to cut their pay without commission. Make the selling goals appropriate for the job they are hired to do .

I have been working at Dillard's

    Pros

Coworkers are awesome and e product is obviously fun to work with.

    Cons

No holidays, expected to work when stores are open. Horrible leadership. Management are catty ladies who live for Dillard's and have no personal lives therefore do not understand personal lives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get with the times. Loyal employees are respected and given more vacation than 2 weeks for 10 years.

I have been working at Dillard's

    Pros

the weekly pay was the best reason that i felt i was working there, also the ability to visual merchadise was another plus. they sometimes worked with school schedules

    Cons

not all the management was polite to the workers. seemed to be division in the management areas which then related to how they treated other employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

work on how you communitcate with the staff, a monthly or bi monthly training for managers and sales staff should be required on how to use the best words when dealing with others.
