I have been working at Dillard's part-time for less than a year

Pros- 25% Employee Discount.
- Automatically qualify for a Dillard's Card, thus Cardholder privileges.
- Upbeat environment.
- Always someone to help if you have a question, it is comfortable in that sense.
- Fellow employees are fabulous.. outside of the sales floor.
- Good starting pay, if you can keep it.
- Flexibility in shifts, schedules are made available monthly so it is easy to schedule around.
- Much more sophisticated compared to Macy's, Penny's and Sears.

Cons- Hourly sales goals are beyond unrealistic.
- Every few months you have a review. If you don't make your goal by a certain percent they can fire you. Just like that. No notice, just fired. Doesn't matter your position, how long you've worked there, or if you've always made your goals. If you have a bad review period you are gone. You're expected to "see it coming".
- Many employees break under the pressure and quit for fear of not making their quota, thus is it constantly either understaffed or has brand new employees who don't know what they're doing and will probably not even be there long enough to find out.
- Due to the extremely high sph goals walking onto the sales floor feels like being thrown to the wolves. Employees are savages and will do anything to keep their job.
- Part time has terrible benefit options.
- Minimum room for growth.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork with employees, do not just fire them. Try to talk to people when you see something going wrong and stay up to date on everything. Being connected to your employees will help your store do well.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
