A total waste of my time and talent

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Norfolk, VA

ProsDecent benefits
Nice co-workers
Commission was decent

ConsPoor Upper Management
Unfair claim practices
Expected to do the work of a store manager but get the pay and title of "Lead Agent"

Advice to Senior ManagementIt would be nice if management actually listened to their agents. You should hire DM's that actually have more experience and education than the agents you have working in your stores. Don't pick favorites. Don't hire an agent as a "lead agent" with the chance to become the store manager but still expect that agent to do the job without the pay. I smell a class action lawsuit in the wind if the company manages to survive which is highly doubtful.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

The company should be named Indirect due to poor claims handling cycle times.

    I worked at Direct General

Pros: Management not the highest caliber because no one comes to Direct General by choice. They had to be fired or laid off to land… Cons: No continuity. No communication between claims depts. Everyone afraid to lose job so no real leaders. Pay way below industry standards. Violates fair claims acts on daily basis. Has… Advice to Senior Management: Stick to a singular plan, be consistent and fair when… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
