Pros

Competent and skilled leaders. Great long-lasting customers, many opportunities for networking and advancement.Job seemed like hybrid of insurance agent and social worker. Miss my job!

Cons

Fraud by customers.Centralized leadership slow to adapt to market changes....

Re-hire sales leaders that possess positive can-do attitudes.

    I worked at Direct General

    Pros

    Great benefits. Great hours. Paid Time Off. Easy to work your way up to become an agent. "Ok" pay for entry level.

    Cons

    Working at Direct General was very stressful. Its not worth the pay! The customers are rude, the teamleaders lack of knowledge affects the CSR's. The teamleaders are more focused on office procedures than assisting a csr with a customer. No one wants to take supervisor calls when its their job to do so. Claims department is only available 8:00-5:00, so the night shift is stuck after 5 with unhappy customers. This company is a joke! You are basically lying to the customers just so they would get off the phone. Selling a policy is more important than being honest to customers and employees. I wouldn't recommend anyone to purchase a policy nor become an employee at Direct.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More training and more classes. Retrain your teamleaders so they are all on one accord. If you don't do something soon you will lose many great sales agents. Its only a matter of time.
