I worked at Direct Impact

Pros

The people made this experience tolerable. Lots of diverse clients and projects kept work interesting. Great way to make connections to individuals in all 50 states.

Cons

Leadership is the biggest challenge to this organization. 3 CEO's in just under a year and a half. Company had 56 when I started and was down to 17 when I left. Just a awful leadership team

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Diversify your staff to serve both sides of the aisle. Provide benefits and leave policies that encourage employees to remain part of your team.

    I worked at Direct Impact

    Pros

Good clients, good staff. Nice office and good working enviornment. More casual atmosphere. Fair compensation. Happy hours. Good stepping stone within a career, but not a long term option for most.

    Cons

Disorganized management style, often causing fear/dissatisfaction with emploees. Lack of communication. Old boys club mentality and lack of promotions based on merit. Very little growth opportunity within the company. Good luck moving up if you weren't a Bush staffer. High turn over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward good work, don't only promote/hire based on personality. Try to communicate with employees about things they care about more regularly, not just client work updates.
