I have been working at Direct Supply full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Great autonomy depending on your role within the organization. Many opportunities to develop new skills or one-off responsibilities unrelated to your job by getting involved in teams or volunteering. Very passionate leadership group, inspiring to partners. Great positioning within it's market. Opportunity for growth, opportunity for career development, opportunity for success!

Cons

Challenged (today) to take that next step from a small, privately held company to a mid-sized, privately held company. Many levels of management which can bog down decision-making. At times too much autonomy so that business strategy may not be implemented. A bit too customer focused, to the point of acting re-actively, not proactively.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many great innovative ideas float up and while all may not be appropriate, more than what is implemented today deserves low-cost (startup) investment and an opportunity to develop. It's how we grow, or learn.

I have been working at Direct Supply full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Offers a lot of training options, has some pretty original job perks (Free soda, casual dress), most of the partners are very intelligent and fun to work with, awesome referral bonus

    Cons

DS used to be a culture, but they are becoming like every other corporation. Money has become the overwhelming priority and DS partners are dropping like flies (Sales in particular). The pay is extremely lopsided (Older DS partners make WAY more then new) and in general their starting wages are very low. The promotion structure is convoluted and the working environment has become very harsh within the sales department
