Directory Concepts – “Was a great place to work and could be again”
Pros
Fun Industry to work in, co-workers were wonderful, information learned was able to take and further personal growth for other applications, good benefits (medical, 401K match), my training was very informative and useful, great Christmas parties
(Do not let what I say in the cons section deter you from working here, this is what I experienced but this is not what everyone was/is treated. The job is good pay/benefits for the area, and it is great experience if you have a marketing/advertising degree. The company was great when I started and went downhill (for me) towards the end. Most of the people there are very kind and willing to help. It would be a great job for someone fresh out of school/college.)
Cons
Became very secretive (no information sharing/was not given information needed to properly do job), ask that workers work as a team but forbid talking to co-workers, poor management, no upward mobility, fear based work environment, not all employees treated the same
Advice to Senior Management
Treat everyone the same, learn the job be able to do the same work as the Account Executives so you understand our job better and can mentor. Don't make snap (emotional) decisions, and separate your personal feelings from business. Make Directory Concepts the fun place it once was and take the fear out of the work place, I guarantee you will have less employee turn over that way! Good Luck and God Bless! I had fun and learned a lot in the first few years, thanks to Tom Hickox for giving me a chance fresh out of college it was a great job for a newbie college grad. I wish this company all the best as it has some great memories for me. I have provided my honest (opinions) of my experience with the company and believe me it was not all bad. Give this place a chance it's great pay, good experience, and good benefits.
