I have been working at Discovery Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Opportunities to try new things and increase knowledge base. Looks great on your resume. Benefits are awsome, and Summer Hours are great!!

    Cons

Morale can be low at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall great place. Make sure those who are in management positions are good people managers. Look at how to increase the morale when it is possible. Don't lose good people over something that is fixable.

I have been working at Discovery Communications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Challenging work environment
Intelligent management who constantly pushes you do perform better
    Great Teamwork
    Minimal Supervision on projects

    Cons

Ironically too corporate compared to the content the company produces
Not as innovative as it could potentially be
Work environment is drab and not conducive to being creative
Not that many incentives to perform better
Lots of workload for ok pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be more team events which encourage employees to perform better and think outside of the box. Feels very corporate and suffocating at times. The atmosphere the marketing group works within is not creative at all and unfortunately everyone is told that they need to make more $$ for the company with no direct incentive for employees themselves. Management needs to incentivise better and encourage growth from within
