Discovery Communications – “The Great Divide: Working For Digital / Web Group = Second Class Citizen”

Pros

Great reputation. Ability to be exposed to many different types of projects on a daily basis. Fabulous coworkers. Good location with an easy commute for me.

Cons

Management changes all the time, and strategy changes wildly along with management. Good people get laid off all the time. You never know if you'll make it through the second or fourth quarter layoffs that come every year. Digital group has been separated from the networks which leads to second class citizenship for digital employees. Upper management makes oodles of money but it doesn't trickle down to the actual workers.

Advice to Senior Management

Try to stick with one strategy for at least, oh, a year??
