I worked at Disney Cruise Vacations full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing opportunity to travel, great community feel with other staff members, easy to save money, most of the leadership was wonderful

    Cons

Very long hours, unruly guests, management was inclined to always take the guests side no matter what the situation, some manager weren't always available to help I was stuck on the same ship that went to the same 3 ports over and over. It got old after awhile. There was a lack of "Disney" hospitality from the International crew members and the upper management made no attempts to adjust that attitude. A requested transfer of departments took over a year to come to fruition.

    Advice to Management

After working at Disney World in Florida, it was apparent that there was less of an importance on keeping Disney standards. Might have been because the majority of the crew was international and hospitality standards are different around the world. I would make a bigger point on enforcing those Disney standards through out both companies to keep it consistent.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Disney Cruise Vacations full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunities to see different places and travel, growth if you decide to stick with it, working with amazing people of ALL different cultures, life off work is the best!

    Cons

The pay is horrible (esp for Americans). Ships are not US registered, so they do not have to abide by US labor laws. During my contract, management was lacking in knowledge and skill and if you offered a question to one, typically they directed you to another manager because they didn't know. They didn't listen to suggestions for improvement.
