I have been working at Disney Interactive Studios full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I enjoyed working there with amazingly talented people. I found that I was able to grow when I showed interest in building a career. Of course Disney has some wonderful benefits too.

    Cons

Constant threat of layoffs sent top talent packing and left many including myself unable to advance. Not knowing if your job was going to be there every 90 days made it difficult to live a life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring so much temp labor just to lay them off within 2-3 years.
Start listening to your lower management. They understand the business more than senior management.
Leverage IP and stop trying to reinvent the division every 6 months.

Good benefits and privileges. Restrictive for production and low pay.

I have been working at Disney Interactive Studios full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fun benefits like free passes to Disneyland and DisneyWorld.
Food is provided for you for all three meals.
Caltrain Go pass is provided for free, short walk from the station.
    Flexible Hours in my team.
Friendly employees in all immediate teams
    Family friendly atmosphere.
No cubicles but desks instead, keeping a view of each other for open communication.

    Cons

    Salary rates are NOT competitive.
Slow production cycle, going to India and back.
Upper management has no idea what is going on.
Lots of restricted issues with using high hitting IPs.
Hard to get in contact with upper management.
Communication concerns go to a black hole with no replies.
Studio-wide meetings are often cancelled with no explanation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees! You never ask for their options and never tried to communicate with them. Even a survey every quarter would help!
