Pros

There are two reasons to work at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Online - the people who work there and that one works on websites for Disney Themeparks.

Cons

The pay is a little low and the opportunities for growth are few. Don't expect to be able to stay here forever and work up through the growth ladder.

Advice to Management

Recognize current and past employees for their contributions. It takes a whole village to create awesome websites like the ones you have.

    Pros

Benefits such as health care, pension, vision care, dental care, 40lK, vacation, paid holidays, sick days and personal holidays. Free passes for friends and relatives.

    Cons

No career path, favoritism, lack of communication, backstabbing by management, lack of proper procedures, lack of proper work distribution, and false concern for personal safety.

    Advice to Management

Be fair, do not favor one employee above another, communicate more, distribute work evenly, allow for application to work plan specialist without personal appointment by managers alone.

  2. The only way to get by is to not care.

    Pros

Free park admissions, great food, bonus incentives, Great Benefits, transfer ability, professional staff, lateral cross training, AFO and ARP certifications can be obtained and used in other locations.

    Cons

Lousy pay, to many unwritten rules, contradictory employment rules (lines of business, management, Ellis [creates instability]), a staff that doesn't care, 6 month transfer guideline, working for managers that have less experience and schooling than 1/2 the staff, Ellis specific certification, line of business controls the rules (but has never actually stepped on a pool deck).

    Advice to Management

My advice to management won't matter, because that is the problem. Management doesn't listen to its front line staff. If employees bring safety issues to the forefront, don't brush them off and or push them off until 6 months to a year down the line. It creates instability, and a feeling of disrespect. Disney has a motto "safeD begins with me", its a great motto but it doesn't mean anything because of the never ending branches of management. To change simple issues which will prevent a situation from ever happening, it takes an infinite amount of branches to approve it.
