Disney Parks & Resorts – “Work there because you love it, not as a career.”

Honestly, the environment and the people working there are the best reasons to work there. I worked there seasonally for three years while I was in college, and after graduation transfered to part time while I continued my education. They were willing to work with my schedule sortof, I was really good friends with a lot of the schedulers so that might have been help. But, for the most part when I wasn't getting shifts or hours, they would call me and offer me more hours. So become friends with scheduling!!!! The only real good thing is that you are able to sign people into the park, and you get to go for free. Don't get me wrong, I loved working there only because you get to see the reaction of every kid, parent and adult experience "Disneyland" that was the best part. Also, the people working there with you, they are really what kept me around as long as I did.
Cons
Don't work there for the pay or if you are looking for an advancement within the company. First, the pay is horrible. You get a little bit over minimum wage when you should make more. You have to shuttle in and out of the park, and that alone takes you an extra 20 mins both before and after your shift. You also do not get paid to change clothes into your costume. So either you go even earlier, or you wear your costume to work. Third, it is very hard to move up. They give promotions to people who may not have deserved it, and don't promote those who do. It is all about the politics there.
Advice to Senior Management
Care more about your cast members and less about yourselves. Also, keep your personal feelings out of the office.
