I worked at Disney Parks & Resorts as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

Parks! Cast events. Professional development (classes, networking, mentors, and meeting other interns)

    Cons

Don't really care what happens to you after the internship. Some areas do, others just watch you go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time with your intern. They want to be there. They fought really hard and are passionate people.

The magic doesn't last forever, but it's a very worthwhile experience!

I worked at Disney Parks & Resorts full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Full-time cast members get excellent health benefits, and part-timers get a relatively decent offering. There are great discounts, free admission to the parks, and other benefits that go along with employment that make the very touristy area more enjoyable. For someone who loves Disney, working for the company is a very memorable and worthwhile experience. It's an active job, keeping you on your feet and energized. You get to meet hundreds of people from around the world and make connections you might not otherwise have made.

    Cons

You WILL deal with tired, impatient disgruntled guests. It's not pleasant, and happens often. The wages are low and it can be difficult to get desired days off/vacation. If you don't like Disney at least a little, you will most likely be miserable, because it is very saturated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A more personal connection with your cast members would be appreciated. Many managers rotate and don't necessarily take the time to create a strong bond with their constantly rotating cast.
