I worked at Disney Parks & Resorts as a contractor (More than a year)

Pros

Benefits (park tickets, discount on and off property, exclusive offers, staff appreciation) Duties of the job (entertaining guests all day cannot be classified as "work") Family atmosphere Professional Opportunities (workshops/auditions, networking events, career advancement) Team work

Cons

"Seasonal" status and getting "capped" hours Hourly rate (fur vs. face vs. show/parade) Seniority above all (over talent, hard work, etc) Sometimes you feel like a number and not a person

Advice to Management

The managers should remain fair and open to all and not have favorites, otherwise, keep up the great work!

I have been working at Disney Parks & Resorts as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

People are great to work with. Everyone for the most part is welcoming and helpful. And if they're not, they usually don't get in your way. As a contractor, I'm pretty sure I make money than my boss, or two people in my position put together, so cha-ching! AHAHAHAHA!

    Cons

Some managers care more about the budgets of their projects than they do about the people who work for them. I have experienced both here. Pray you get the one of the good ones. The bad ones are complete joke and everyone knows they are hacks and that they don't belong at all, but there's nothing anyone can do because chances are, they work for an even bigger joke. If you're a contractor, keep your guard up and recruiters looking for new work for you at all times - it would be a mistake to trust Disney to adhere to the terms of your contract. They're Disney, and that mouse does whatever it wants. Also, there are a lot of contractors here who are happy to work for Disney, but the company has a strict policy of ejecting contractors after 18 months. A lot of process, even for getting basic office equipment.

    Advice to Management

Drop the policy of 18 month ejections for contractors. Drop the policy of budget/hourly tracking of every employee.
