Disney Marketing Assistant in New York, NY:   (Past Employee - 2008)

Pros

The brand name opens doors, and it looks good on a resume. Company has good benefits.

Cons

There is a serious lack of middle management. If you start there in an entry level position you will not get promoted unless you leave and come back. The organizational structure of the company is mostly senior staff and their assistants. Therefore, assistants end up doing managerial work for little pay and a title that may reflect prevent higher positions in the future. While the Disney brand is well-recognized the name can only get you so far. Also, there is very little interaction among employees and management is very top-down.

Advice to Senior Management

Give your employees title changes and adequate compensation changes when they deserve it.
