Pros

Proud to work for well known company, park , fun work enviornment, discount, listening to people share experiences with such a great brand.

Cons

So much pressure to pass mystery shops, loose sight of the point. Not enough hours for everyone to be developed as they require.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

who motivates and inspires the store managers? Seems like they could use a little encouragement instead of contant opportunities. Happy managers also make happier teams.

    I have been working at Disney Store part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Employee discount, and store atmosphere.

    Cons

    I was hired on as a seasonal employee, and it was my first job. I lived about two cities away from the store and had to take the bus to and from work. I made these transportation limitations very clear in the interview and orientation process, and was told it should be fine as all call-in requests are made 1-2 hours before the employee is expected to arrive, giving me more than enough time to get to work. I started off as a part-time employee, working 2-3 days a week and on call. My days were quickly slashed in half, and I became a purely on-call employee, which was fine. I began getting called in with the expectation that I would be there in the next half hour, and was criticized for showing up late despite the 1-2 grace period I was told about at the time of employment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please be clear about your policies to employees, and do not hire employees with transportation difficulties if flexibility is not an option for your store.

    I worked at Disney Store part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    discounts on merchandise and some discounts in the parks.

    Cons

    - works their overnight employees like slaves!
    - there's no magic whatsoever in that store
    - cast member on the overnight teams are not magical at all!
    -management is mean and does not like to work around schedules!
    - this store is a disgrace to the disney name

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    stop showing favoritism! be more magical
