I have been working at Dollar General full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Dollar General is a great place to work that really invests a lot of time and effort into developing employees who want to put in the effort. You have to work really hard every day to be successful.

    Cons

There is A LOT of work to be done and a very lean staff. This is a pro and a con really. You have the choice whether to embrace it or not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop trying to be "secretative" about upcoming changes. We can all tell that something is going on and the unknown is stressful.

I worked at Dollar General part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Little to no experience necessary for hire.
    Flexible schedules.

    Cons

Lots of expectations for minimum pay. No training or guidance. Little productive communication between levels of employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Entry level is the place to understand the business, but bridge the gap between levels of employees to retain the ones that really want to contribute!
