Pros

The company itself has a wonderful mission; most benefits are great. Products are cheap and most of the time, items are on sale and they are actually items that you use often.

Cons

There are no employee discounts, Store manager's opinion is solely what determines your growth in the company, not how hard you work. Employees are overworked and under paid. Lead Sales Associates and Management do not get any type of uninterrupted meal breaks.

Advice to Management

listen to your employees. If your employees aren't happy, then neither is your customers. Give your Lead sales associates and Management team an uninterrupted meal break.

    Pros

There are over 11,000 stores so it's easy to transfer if you can.

    Cons

The available labor hours is ridiculously low, most of the stores have ancient equipment and the facilities themselves are in serious disrepair. The pay is very, very low and there is very little actual management involved - proper training, development and coaching of Sales Associates is impossible due to the labor constraints.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people better or learn to live with low-skilled, unproductive employees who don't excel or even stay long.

Its easy work, repetitive work, but you meet and interact with people and there is a lot of work variety.

    Pros

The job offers a variety of things do to and you will always be multi-tasking, but, that's if you are promoted t higher positions, such a a lead key or assistant manager. You get to meet a lot of new people too. And, you get a raise every six months. If you work full-time, you are eligible to be set up for a 401 K and some benefits.

    Cons

Work and life balance is hard to achieve. One day you might work 1-9 and then the next day have to come in early. Also, your starting pay is usually very low.
