I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Small store Great customer base Not as many bosses to answer to as a bigger store monthly bonuses

Cons

Limited hours insurance is kind of expensive if there isn't enough coverage you don't get to take your vacation pay could be more for what i do

Advice to Management

Promotions are unfair. No matter how hard you work or how good your attendance is in order to get promoted to store manager you have to come from outside of the store. With in the past year a store has been through 4 store managers all hired from outside the company. None seem to last long. If someone is a good worker they should be able to get promoted

I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The job is not bad, as long as you stay away from management.

    Cons

The company has a high turnover rate for managers that I feel was due to the fact that they expect managers to put in at least 60 hours or more each week in order to make sales goals. They don't allow part timers to get more than fifteen hours a week , which creates no sense of loyalty.

    Advice to Management

Allow part-timers to work more than fifteen to twenty hours a week, so that better workers want to stay. Stop expecting the managers to run the store, put out the majority of freight, and take up all slack left from not having enough employees. You are losing the best employees because of this.
