I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There really are not any good reasons. Right now my current pro is the commute to work.

    Cons

There is no work/life balance. they expect so much from the managers that you practically have to live at your store. They preach don't work off the clock, but then they give you a laundry list of things to accomplish. If they aren't done, they basically say... well You just suck.

I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Small store
    Great customer base
Not as many bosses to answer to as a bigger store
    monthly bonuses

    Cons

    Limited hours
    insurance is kind of expensive
if there isn't enough coverage you don't get to take your vacation
pay could be more for what i do

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promotions are unfair. No matter how hard you work or how good your attendance is in order to get promoted to store manager you have to come from outside of the store. With in the past year a store has been through 4 store managers all hired from outside the company. None seem to last long. If someone is a good worker they should be able to get promoted
