I worked at Dollar Tree part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Store management, associates and customers. Flexible scheduling.

    Cons

Negativity from upper management. Expect far too much to be done with far too little staffing hours. No real training time for new associates. Little done to encourage associates to stay. Too few hours allowed for associates to be interested in staying if they trying to support themselves/families or better their position in life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lighten up! Make your employees feel like they matter. Get rid of the "another associate will be along in 15 minutes" attitude. Get rid of the "you'll be written up" attitude with the employess/managers. Try some positive reinforcement. You know...the old "you get more bees with honey" attitude.
