    Pros

    Great benefits and decent pay. Co workers are great to work with. Different types of work schedules to help work around school.

    Cons

    Not alot of advance chances. Pay increases can be low at times. No ice on the weekends to get drinks.

    I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    There are little to working for Dollar Tree.

    Cons

    Little to no support from upper management or corporate. Store Managers are expected/required to work a minimum of 45 hours a week. But are only paid for 40 of the, You are not allowed to decide on what days you are off when a Store Manager. It says within the company handbook that you are allowed to have one weekend off a month, but that is only if the District Manager gives his or her approval. At Christmas or other busy holidays, Store Managers are required to work a 6 day week. Often times with Christmas being the one day off for that particular week, which sometimes means that you would be working 8-9 days straight before you are allowed to be off. Dollar Tree wastes money on improving how to or supposedly on how to increase productivity from it's employees, by making it mandatory that all use a program called "Appleseed" which is a monumental waste of time, & makes more paperwork for the store manager. Who isn't really a Manager at all, but a glorified stocker, saddled with a ton of useless paperwork, that is all attainable via the stores PC.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Dollar Tree is decent enough place to work if you only plan on staying a cashier, or an assistant manager. If you have dreams of moving up into a Store Manager position. My advice to you is to seriously rethink that thought. As you would required to work far more than you're worth in pay, be expected to use a program, "Appleseed" that is quite ridiculous & adds a ton more paperwork to what is already expected. And last but not least all you would be is a glorified stocker, that also has to carry all the responsibilities of being a store manager.
